Waste Management Receives Green Technology World Leadership Award

Data Center Facility Honored for Green Initiatives

Waste Management Inc. (NYSE: WM) today announced that their Data Center Facility has received a Green Technology World Leadership Award from TMC. The World Leadership Award honors forward-thinking businesses that have made advancements in innovative, environmentally-sustainable technology. The award is typically reserved for products and services, but Waste Management is being recognized for the "green" initiatives taking place throughout their data centers and IT facilities.

"Waste Management made a commitment to minimizing our data center's footprint with conservation and recycling efforts. Being honored for this in a space where data centers are seldom recognized is an outstanding achievement," said Brian Kirkpatrick, director of Waste Management's data centers.

- Low consumption servers, network, and storage devices
- Application and infrastructure rationalization, consolidation, and virtualization
- A continued commitment to reduce consumption through energy audits
