Waste Management highlights the importance of coastal conservation by giving new recycling customers a Houston Audubon Society membership.

Houston —April 30, 2012 — Waste Management, Inc, announced today that in honor of Earth Day, it has given 135 customers that signed up for recycling services in April a free one-year membership to the Houston Audubon Society.   Additionally, Waste Management is donating thirty dollars on behalf of each new recycling customer, to support important coastal conservation work during the height of the critical spring migration season.  

As the leading waste and environmental solutions provider, Waste Management is committed to the protection of wildlife habitats and one of its corporate sustainability goals is to protect over 25,000 acres of wildlife habitat.  It currently actively manages and protects over 26,000 acres for wildlife at 110 of its operations across North America.
