Waste Management’s leadership status was announced in CDP’s 2016 Climate A List, which includes those companies from around the world that have been identified as leading in their efforts and actions to combat climate change in the past CDP reporting year. “At Waste Management, environmental stewardship is inextricably linked
to our business performance and we’re honored by this prestigious
recognition,” said
Waste Management has been included in CDP’s survey results since 2004, but this is the first year that Waste Management has achieved a position in CDP’s Climate A List. The Climate A List is released in CDP’s Out of the starting blocks: Tracking progress on corporate climate action report. The report, which establishes the baseline for corporate climate action, reveals that global corporations have started the transition to a low-carbon economy and some are already capitalizing on the opportunities this affords. Companies’ progress on reducing emissions in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement will be tracked against this baseline in future annual reports. The 2016 Climate A List, including names of companies featured in the report, can be found at https://www.cdp.net/en.
CDP is a not-for-profit that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts.
