Tom Weidemeyer served as Senior Vice President of United Parcel Service, Inc., a leading package delivery and supply chain services company, from 1994 to 2003, and as Chief Operating Officer of UPS from 2001 to 2003. In 1990, Mr. Weidemeyer became Vice President and Airline Manager of UPS airlines and became its President and Chief Operating Officer in 1994.

Through Mr. Weidemeyer’s experience with UPS, he developed extensive expertise in the areas of supply chain management, logistics, labor relations, public policy, compliance, and strategic planning that he provides as the Chair of WM’s Board. Mr. Weidemeyer also provides valuable insight to advance WM’s initiatives to continuously improve and enhance operational and fleet efficiencies and employee safety.

Mr. Weidemeyer has over 20 years of experience serving on the board of directors for large public companies, and provides the WM Board with expertise and knowledge of best practices in the areas of governance, board oversight, risk management and succession planning.

Mr. Weidemeyer has a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University and a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina.

Mr. Weidemeyer is also currently a director of NRG Energy, Inc.
